Your miles. Your weeks. Your call.

ShiftSeat is a marketplace connecting small and mid-sized expedited fleet owners with independent drivers, so an idle truck gets back on the road in days instead of weeks. Fleet owners keep control of who takes the wheel; drivers keep control of their schedule.

Post a sitting truck and get it ShiftSeated — a qualified driver in the seat for a week, a month, whatever the engagement says. Pay is escrowed before day one. Every term is posted before anyone applies. Drivers pay nothing, permanently.

2026 Peterbilt 579 — Fleet Flow

Pickup & staging: Tampa, FL

$258 / day Team Hazmat Drop-and-hook Refrigerator Automatic
  • EngagementSep 1 – Sep 8, 2026
  • Holdover pay$200 after 24h
  • Breakdown pay$150 + $150 / 24h
  • Max cleaning holdback$300
  • Driver feeNone. Ever.

This is what a posting looks like. Every term of the engagement is visible before anyone applies — if it isn’t posted, it isn’t a term.

The problem

When a truck sits, everybody loses

Three ways an expedited seat goes empty. Every one of them costs an ISP — the fleet owner contracted to the carrier — revenue, and costs a driver a paycheck.

The truck loses its team

It parks while the owner scrambles to recruit — weeks, usually. Vetted capacity, idle.

The driver needs home time

Three weeks off and nobody to cover the seat, so the truck stops earning.

The truck breaks down

Good drivers sit at home earning nothing. Some never come back to the same fleet.

Built for drivers first

Drive when you want. Park when you don’t.

Real expedited seats, escrowed pay, taken on your schedule. String together the weeks you want to run and take the weeks you want to live. You’re qualified across the whole network — now your career can move like it.

The free agent

Pick a seat, run the engagement — five days, three weeks, whatever the posting says — get paid from escrow, and step off. Take the holidays. Take your kid’s graduation week. Then pick your next seat, maybe on the other side of the country. Your schedule stops being something you request and becomes something you book.

The bridge

Your truck’s in the shop and your bills don’t care. Your fleet refers you to ShiftSeat and becomes your recorded Home Fleet. You keep earning in another ISP’s truck, and when yours comes back, you come home. Returning to your own Home Fleet is always free.

  • Free. Forever. Period.

Drivers pay ShiftSeat nothing. Not a fee, not a deduction, not a processing charge. It’s permanent and it’s in writing.

  • Paid before you climb in

The ISP funds your full engagement into escrow before day one. You never work on a promise.

  • Every term visible before you apply

Daily rate, dates, holdover pay, breakdown pay, return location, and the most that could ever be held back for cleaning. All on the listing.

  • Protected when things go sideways

Sitting at a dock for hours, or broken down mid-engagement? The posted terms pay you, fee-free, and the GPS-stamped record proves what happened.

  • A verification window

After signing you get a Verification Window to check the truck out with Safety. Something’s off, you cancel — no penalty, no rating hit, no effect on standing.

  • $2,500 if an engagement becomes home

If an engagement turns into your permanent fleet, your sign-on bonus is paid up front through the platform. Not dripped over a year.

  • Never inherit the last crew’s mess

The entry inspection documents the truck you’re handed. The exit inspection means you’re never blamed for dirt or damage that isn’t yours.

On ShiftSeat, the driver is never the one taking the risk.

Paperwork, escrow, and a camera

How an engagement runs

Every engagement runs start to finish on one rail. No hidden terms, and no way to pay outside the platform — on purpose.

  1. All terms up front

Truck, dates, base daily rate, plus required holdover and breakdown pay — posted before the truck goes live.

  2. Qualified drivers apply

Drivers see every term before they apply. No surprises after the handshake.

  3. Every driver signs

Each driver signs individually and the system generates a version-stamped agreement that second.

  4. Escrow before the seat

The ISP funds the engagement before the driver ever climbs in. Nobody works unpaid.

  5. Entry inspection

The truck’s condition is photographed and time-stamped at handoff. Disputes become comparisons, not arguments.

  6. The record keeps itself

Every milestone is GPS-timestamped into a log nobody can edit, while the network dispatches exactly as it does today.

  7. Exit inspection

The same record at the other end. The truck comes home with evidence, not stories.

  8. Guaranteed disbursement

Pay releases from escrow, weekly on longer engagements. It was secured before day one.

ShiftSeat records what the network dispatches. It will never be the other way around. A written design principle. ShiftSeat never initiates, assigns, or dispatches loads.

The words in every ShiftSeat agreement — engagement, Home Fleet, holdover, conversion buyout — are defined in the Lexicon.

ISPs and owner-operators

Get the truck ShiftSeated and earning

Built by an active ISP in this network. We are not a vendor — we live the problem.

Small and mid-sized fleets

ShiftSeat a truck in California from your kitchen table in Florida. Condition is photographed at both ends, terms are frozen at posting, and pay sits in escrow until the engagement is done. Your truck stays your truck — accountability at every exit means the standard holds without you policing it.

Owner-operators

Parking the truck for the season? ShiftSeat it to a team instead and let the asset earn while you’re off the road. Same protections: escrow, signed terms, photo custody records. And if you’re outside the network today, there’s an on-ramp below.

Home Fleet Protection

One tire. Six weeks. Two drivers gone.

This is our Miles 2 Go Transport truck. A steer tire let go at highway speed on our dedicated lane. Our team got her stopped safe in the grass — good drivers do that. Nobody hurt. That was the good news, and it was the last good news for six weeks.

Six weeks in the shop. Six weeks of a truck earning nothing. And here’s the part nobody warns you about: our drivers, a proven team, couldn’t afford to sit and wait. Nobody can. They had bills and families. So they moved on. When the truck came back, the team didn’t.

We didn’t just lose six weeks of revenue. We lost the team we’d invested in. That loss is why ShiftSeat exists.

Now your truck goes down and you send your drivers to ShiftSeat — recorded as your Home Fleet referral. They keep earning in another ISP’s truck while yours is in the shop. When your truck comes back, your team comes home. And if another ISP ever keeps them, the Conversion Buyout pays you for the team you built: $2,500 per seat, to you.

  • Conversion Buyout to the Home Fleet$2,500 / seat
  • Sign-on bonus to the driver, up front$2,500 / seat
  • Platform Fee on the package7.5%
  • A team, paid on day one$10,750

Drivers returning to their own home fleet: always free. No buyout, no fee. Coming home costs nothing.

Truck E15767 — steer tire blowout on our dedicated lane, April 4, 2026. Our truck. Our lane. Our loss.
One blown tire cost us six weeks of revenue and a good team. We built ShiftSeat so it never costs anyone else theirs. Etien Alcantara, Founder · Built with the Miles 2 Go Transport team

Straight numbers

What ShiftSeat costs

We read contracts for a living. Here’s ours, up front — one set of numbers for drivers, one for ISPs.

For drivers

$0

Drivers pay ShiftSeat nothing. Not a fee, not a deduction, ever. That’s permanent.

$2,500

Sign-on bonus to you if an engagement turns into a permanent move to that ISP. Money moves toward you, never away from you.

  • Every term posted before you applyDaily rate, dates, holdover pay, breakdown pay, return location, and the most that could ever be held back for cleaning. All on the listing. If it isn’t posted, it isn’t a term.
  • Escrow before day oneThe ISP funds your full engagement before you ever climb in. You never work on a promise.
  • Guaranteed disbursementPay releases from escrow, weekly on longer engagements. It was secured before day one.
  • Breakdowns don’t cost youYou’re paid for the days you worked plus Breakdown Pay at the posted rate. If the truck can’t continue, the engagement ends early with no penalty and no rating consequence.

For ISPs

7.5%

The Platform Fee, charged to the posting ISP only, on base daily-rate pay only.

$2,500

The per-seat Conversion Buyout when a match goes permanent, routed to the Home Fleet that developed the driver.

Every ISP knows the empty-seat problem. Fewer have added up what solving it the usual way actually costs. We did, using published industry figures. Here is the math, with sources.

The traditional way

What it costs to put one driver in one seat by advertising, screening, and waiting. Ranges are per hire.

Cost Solo truck (1 driver) Team truck (2 drivers)
Advertising to produce one hire $1,343–$2,686 $2,686–$5,372
Screening finalists $462–$540 $924–$1,080
Total out-of-pocket $1,805–$3,226 $3,610–$6,452
Revenue lost while the seat sitsThe number most operators never write down $11,200–$25,200 $11,200–$25,200

The revenue line is the same for solo and team because the truck is sitting either way. It is the largest number on this page, and it is the one nobody invoices you for.

What ShiftSeat costs

Cost Solo truck (1 driver) Team truck (2 drivers)
ShiftSeat fee, 4-week engagement $450–$630 $900–$1,260

7.5% of the driver’s base daily rate. Drivers pay nothing, ever.

How these numbers are built

  • Advertising

CDL truck driver campaigns run a median $26.86 per applicant (Boostpoint 2026 Social Job Advertising Benchmark). Most fleets hire 1 out of every 50–100 applications, a 1–2% hire rate. That puts advertising at $1,343–$2,686 per hire.

  • Screening

$154–$180 per candidate for the full company-driver standard: state MVR, DOT 5-panel drug test, FMCSA Clearinghouse query, PSP report, and criminal background check. Figured across roughly three finalists per seat.

  • Revenue loss

$800–$1,200 per day for a truck without a driver, across the 14–21 days a typical fill takes.

  • ShiftSeat

7.5% of base driver pay, at $1,500–$2,100 per week for a solo driver and double that for a team.

The part the numbers don’t show

Every driver on ShiftSeat is already qualified in the FedEx Custom Critical network.

Traditional recruiting means paying to advertise, paying to screen, waiting two to three weeks, and only then finding out whether the candidate can pass the network’s qualification process. If they can’t, you start over, and the truck keeps sitting.

On ShiftSeat the qualification is already done. You see their credentials, they see your rate and lane, and the engagement signs in-app with pay held in escrow before a wheel turns.

ShiftSeat, LLC and Miles 2 Go Transport, LLC are affiliated companies under common ownership.
